Albay

Welcome to Albay

Everyone has their fair share of unknown travel... I have mine, too.

I want to end my far South travel that I decided to do a road trip in the Bicol Region
though it was not the right season...
it was the raining season.

I left Manila 5 minutes after midnight
and found no single bus available anywhere along EDSA Cubao.
I went to Alimall Terminal and found one ordinary, non- air conditioned bus
that goes directly to Albay.

The current fare was P600 for a 12 hours or more land travel.

I slept the entire duration of the travel.

They are constructing the road that time along Quezon Province
that made my trave longer than I expected.

I arrived around 2 PM in Legaspi.

I haven't seen the volcano, yet.

As I was about to cross the street I was so astonished to see it
grandly and proudly
caresses by the clouds above.

It is really a perfect cone after all!

I walked 10 minutes passing the river entering the ruins of Cagsawa.

The entrance fee is P25.

It was a church built by Spaniards hundred years ago.
Now, only the tower and the walls can be seen.

I stayed here for about 30 minutes.

I'm heading to Donsol, Sorsogon.
It was another an hour travel.

It was not the season of whale sharks but I can do firefly watching by the river
which did not happen.

Unfortunately, it was raining that night...
heavy raining!

I stayed in this old-Spanish inspired lodge for P400, fan room.

I wake up so early, the next day and found myself walking in the shore of Donsol.
It was drizzling turned to heavy raining.

There are mangroves along the way.

It was low tide.
I sit on the sand and waited for the rain to stop.

There are some fishermen on the very last portion of the shore catching fishes.
I went back to my room and take a bath,
had my coffee and breakfast.

I went to the river adjacent to the sea.

This must have been a romantic place to do firefly watching.

I will go back next time when the time is right.

And, I did (fast forward 2014)
My Whaleshark chasing entry: Donsol
My  Sorsogon entry: Sorsogon

Some little white and yellow crabs.

Fish vendor walking along the street.

Along the highway.

I took another 2 hours land travel by bus looking for a nearby a coastline.

I ride another jeepney from Sorsogon City going to Gubat coast.

The travel time is 15 minutes for P10.

I've come this far... it was not your typical white sand.

I'm always in love with the ocean view,
with its infinite character,
it seems forever.
One cannot tell the boundary, depth and its mood.

An artwork in the sand by some creative crabs.

I went back to Legaspi to spend the night, there.
I dropped by in Embarkadero for a  fine evening.

The next day, I went to see the Lignon Hill.

I walked uphill about 20 to 30 minutes.

After which, I went to search for Philippine National Railways station.

I want to travel through train back to Manila.

I stopped over in Pili to check the Water Complex on their famous wake boarding.

there are motorcycle outside the subdivision
that you can hire for 10.00 php...
wake boarding is 400.00 php...

maybe, next time when I have my friends to cheer me up! it looks strong for the pull...
yeah... I tried surfing but I was not in the mood that time... I watched instead...

I travel to Naga and buy my ticket for the 6 pm train travel arriving Manila at 6 am...

this is not the perfect travel...
definitely not my favorite...
but the experienced is beyond compare...
I tried a lot of trial and error but I learned too many things...
one important is... never travel without any research and itinerary...
because it would be crazier like this... like me!

total expenses: 3,000 php
