El Nido, Palawan

Welcome to El Nido, Palawan

The most beautiful island in the world: 2016

El Nido is a first class municipality in the province of Palawan.

Puerto Prinsesa is Palawan's capital.

We booked our flight 1 month in advance with Air Asia.

The itinerary:
Fly Manila - Puerto Prinsesa.
Bus Puerto Prinsesa to El Nido

From PP airport, took a trike to the bus terminal.
There are also vans going in and out.
The travel time will take 7 hours.

The fastest and easiest way is to fly directly from Manila to El Nido (Lio Airport).

or

you can follow our itinerary.

We chose an early morning flight for P1,700, each round trip.
(30-45 minutes flight time)

From Puerto Prinsesa aiport, we hired a trike to take us to the bus terminal.
The fare is P20 each.

We just tell the driver to take us to the bus terminal bound to El Nido.
The fare was P250.

We arrived in El Nido around 3 pm.
The bus terminal in El Nido is 10 minutes away from the town and the sea side.
We hired a trike to get us to the town.
The fare is P20.

I didn't book any hotel in advance as it was not a peak season.
I want to choose our accommodation near the shore with a good ambiance.

This is the entrance to our hotel cottage.

It has no signage and I forgot the name of it.

The cottage is made of wood and bamboo.
It's pretty neat.

The fan room is P600, good for 2.
The AC room is P1200, good for 2.

The front view.

If you want to stay here,
I suggest to look for this pension house beside it.

We decided to do the island hopping the next day.
We walked along the small town of El Nido for our late lunch.

There are a lot of restaurants and hotels around this area.

The simple night life on the beach.

The beautiful morning in El Nido beach front.

Day 2.
The island hopping consists of 4 tour packages:
Tour A is for Php 1,200.
Tour B is for Php 1,300.
Tour C is for Php 1,400.
Tour D is for Php 1,200.

Most suggested of Package Tour A and C.

Since I have 3 companions, I decided to hire an outrigger boat, instead.

We found one boatman with a tour guide for P5000.
P1,250, each.
We agreed to have Tour A and C.

Had our breakfast and bought our packed lunch.
We also included our boatmen's food.

We started with Tour A.
I can't remember the name of this island.
We just swim here for a bit and enjoy the morning view.

The second stop was the Big Lagoon.

It is connected to a small lagoon.

This is another place where we visited.

There is a cave beside this shore.

A very little passage leading to a hidden salt lake inside.

View inside the cave.

Some island along the way.

We stopped in one island where we had a good swimming.
I can't remember the name of it, and I don't have a picture as it was heavy raining.

We had our simple lunch in the boat.
We had to stop for a while letting the heavy rain pour out into the ocean,
with the strong wind.

Our Tour C was changed to Tour B.

The first island of Tour B.

A little entrance to the cave.

The dark view inside :)
Yeah, it was dark and magical.
Hahahaha

My friends and I were enjoying the darkness.. I mean the adventure.

My favorite island of our Tour B.

The snake island.
It is connecting two islands and it was awesome!

This is one of the highlights of my travel.. walking into a sand bar from island to another.
This is so exciting and first for me though it was pouring with rain.

The last activity on the list of Tour B.

This is where we had our snorkeling.
As always, I cannot remember the name of this island.

So cloudy, and it was drizzling but the experienced was ultimate!

We just take out our dinner and enjoy the rest of the evening in our resort.

Day 3.

To Nacpan-Calitang Twin Beach.

We hired a motorbike to take us to this paradise.

It will take 45 minutes rough motorbike ride.
The fare was P200, good for 2.

There is no beach resorts and no restaurants except a small native hut that serves lunch.

We had our bountiful lunch

The chicken serving was P150 and P200 for the crabs.. with rice.

We stayed here the whole day.

We took the last bus back to Puerto Prinsesa that day.

The last bus departs at 9:00 pm arriving Puerto Prinsesa the next morning.

Our return flight was 8 PM in the evening.
We did the one day city tour for P1,000 trike fee, good for 4.

We had the sunrise in the port of Puerto Prinsesa

Then, we continue to the Baker's Hill.
This is small villa turned into a bakery and zoo.
There is no entrance fee.

Our simple treat for the morning.

Then, the Crocodile farm.
The entrance fee is P40.

We checked into some cheap hotel near the airport that afternoon to sleep.
Then, returned Manila that evening.

Total expenses P5,000 each.
