Welcome to Potipot Island, Zambales
It was the first week of January 2013.
The best time of the year to start beautifully.
It will take 8 hours from Manila to Candelaria, Zambales.
There are a lot of bus lines along the EDSA Cubao.
We took the Victory Liner for P450.
We just tell the driver to drop us in Uacon: jump off point to Potipot Island.
From Uacon junction, you can walk to the shore as there is no port in this place.
The island is 15 minutes away from the mainland.
The boat fare is P400, round trip.
Good for 4-5 people capacity.
We bought some fresh fish and rice to cook.
There is a source of water for bathing but no electricity.
Day tour is P100, each
Overnight stay is P300, each.
There are cottages available, good for 2 for P400.
Just make sure to bring a mattress, blanket, pillow, food and water.
You can also set up a tent.
It's a small island.
Our cottage.
We manage to squeeze into it.
We left the island at 4 pm to catch the 6 pm bus bound to Olongapo.
Then, transfer to another bus to going back to Manila.
We had some snack in this floating restaurant while waiting for the bus.
Total expenses: P2,000.
